Less than two weeks away....
This time two weeks from now we will be sitting in canoes floating down the James River starting the "opening ceremonies".
Tomorrow, Thomas and I will be transferring La Fin Du Riveire to keg to start the carbonation process. We will do a taste test too, just to make sure it is up to the WolfPak's high standard. We must maintain the high quality of other WolfPak favorites: Crown Royal, Captain Morgan, Natty Light and I believe soon to be appointed Fireball.
We still need to decide what we would like to do for dinner on Friday night at the campground. Before we decide what to have for Friday night here is the menu for the Canoe Trip:

Friday Nights Campground
We are now only 30 days away from the greatest adventure of this year, besides Thomas' lifelong union to The General. After much discussion, this year the WolfPak will be enhancing the canoe trip by adding a day of camping at the beginning of the trip. Instead of waking up at the ass-crack of dawn (4:30am) on Saturday and travelling 3 hours to Twin River Outfitters, we will be setting up camp on Friday night so we will have less than 30 minutes to drive in the morning.
There are two campgrounds in the area that are not fully booked or that require a three day reservation. Unfortunately one of the campgrounds has not responded so that leaves us with one campground. Middle Creek Campground. I have spoken with them and they have an enormous field for primitive camping. You can see them to the left of the lakes, She pretty much guaranteed me that there would be plenty of space.

Reservations Made
In typical WolfPak fashion we planned on making reservations during the brewing of La Fin Du Riviere, but due to the consumption of multiple high ABV beverages and a desire to play Mario Cart the reservations slipped our minds, shocking, I know. Well the reservation has been completed!! We will be leaving civilization a little earlier, around 5am, this year so we can get on the water and to the campsite with more daylight. Unfortunately, due to this being the busiest weekend of the year, we will not be able to stay on the Isle de Happiness :( All is well though, because we will be staying at the site of a previous Wolfpak trip. Breeden's Campground Site #2, the infamous projectile slip-n-slide, provides large areas for camping and rock lined fire-pits for large bonfires.

The journey begins....
It is now April and the WolfPak (Thomas, Nick, Alex and I) is preparing for the annual canoe trip, a two night excursion down the mighty James river. It all goes down on Memorial day weekend! This year we have decided to bring along some delicious home-brew, a.k.a La Fin Du Riviere. La Fin Du Riviere, which means "The End of the River" should be a 9% abv Belgian Tripel/Strong Ale. The process started on 4/7/2013. We all (except Alex) gathered at Rodriguez Manor to start the brewing process. Starting the day right, we proceeded to sit back, relax and have a home-brew, Thomas' delicious Belgian tripel. Sous Chef Nick prepared delicious Chorizos' on french bread while Davis and I ate them...
La Fin Du Riviere is now heavily fermenting.
